REBEL HAIR

FULL STORY

I know what you might be thinking: why is this girl talking about her hair, it's not even that long! Over this past year, my hair has grown about 4 inches. I know it doesn't seem like much but for someone who's hair went on strike and refused to grow; this is nothing short of a miracle. I'm going to give you a run-down of exactly what I do to my hair. I hope these tips/tricks help you as much as they've helped me...

1. Natural is always better. Don't get me wrong, I love straightening my hair and being able to style it that way...I even wear extensions. I used to hate wearing my hair natural, I never thought it looked good on me but as I've grown older, I've learned to embrace my curls. Love them and nurture them. My motto: work with what you've got!

2. Schedule your heat. I know this probably sounds weird but I have a Mon-Fri job and try to go to the gym after work. Straightening my hair throughout the week is too time consuming and extremely damaging to my hair. Therefore, I only straighten my hair on the weekends. I've decided, that I can use heat on my hair during the weekends when I want to crawl out of my cave and be a social butterfly. This gives my hair a week of restoration and relaxation.

3. Leave in conditioner. During the week, when I wear my hair natural, I use Cantu Argan Oil Leave In Conditioning Repair Cream. My sister put me on to this, thanks Linz :) It's thick and heavy, just what I need to tame my lions mane. It doesn't make my hair "crunchy" or dry out my hair.

4. Protect your hair! I cannot say this enough....USE HEAT PROTECTANT. After I get out of the shower, I towel dry my hair and apply a small amount of L'Oreal Paris Advanced Haircare Smooth Intense Ultimate Straight Perfecting Balm. I use this before I blow dry my hair. After I straighten my hair, I apply Redken 01 Outshine Anti-Frizz. I use a dime size amount. I mainly add it to the ends of my hair.

5. Take your vitamins. Daily vitamins are vital in my opinion. I take A LOT everyday for various reasons. For my hair, I take prenatal Nature Made Prenatal Multi + DHA Dietary Supplement Softgels and biotin gummies Nature's Bounty Optimal Solutions Hair, Skin & Nails Dietary Supplement Strawberry Flavored Gummies. Take daily for best results.

Essentially, wearing your hair natural and minimizing heat is the real trick to growing your hair out. These products may or may not work for you. Learning the right products and style that best suits you is what you'll have to play around with. Everyone's hair is different and fabulous in it's own way! brb, gonna go deep condition my hair...
